Chairman Message

At the outset, I would like to appreciate the efforts being made by the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad and Consulate General in Karachi towards promoting trade and investment ties between the two brotherly countries. Here, I would particularly like to pay glowing tribute to His Excellency Hadi Santoso, Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi who has been proactively discharging his services and maintains excellent liaison with the business and industrial community especially of Sind & Baluchistan.

I would also like pay tribute to Late H.E Mr. Burhan Mohammed (Ambassador Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad) died in helicopter crash who was the Patron in Chief & considered the strategic importance of Indonesia & Pakistan in their own regions and the bright prospects of trade increase & assured his full support and cooperation to make P.I.B.F more productive & effective for the benefit of both the countries, but unfortunately his life didn’t give him spare time to see the outcome of this forum, however our forever prayers are for him & we will never forget his gentle & bright image, May Allah give him eternal rest & strength to his family to bear the loss beyond repair

Although Pakistan and Indonesia have historical ties but lack mutual business forum was identified as an obstacle to promote thus, it was mutually decided to establish Pakistan Indonesia Forum in 2011 which continues to work dedicatedly and has been making all out efforts to play the role of the strong bridge between the business communities of the two countries. To fully explore and benefit from these sectors, the business communities of both countries must join hands and undertake joint ventures whereas both, Pakistani and Indonesian governments must play their due role of facilities to bring the business communities of the two countries closer.

Before I conclude, I would like to stress that exchange of trade delegations, individual visits of businessmen and officials, holding single-country exhibitions in each other’s country coupled with joint-ventures and better travelling facilities, certainly prove to be a great source of robustness of economies of both countries.

PIBF has been striving hard to promote trade and investment ties between the two brotherly countries and I can proudly say that with the passage of time, PIBF has succeeded in attaining its objectives, however, lot more efforts from both sides have to be made as it was still a long way to go.

In my view, PIBF has provided better access to wider range of markets to business communities and played vital role in further strengthening beneficial trade ties between two brotherly states.

With these words, I conclude my message with a sincere thanks to all those who made this possible.

I also hope that Pakistan-Indonesian business and friendship relations grow by leaps and bounds in future.
